Windows 10: Balls To The Wall Lenovo/ Win 10 Updates for a...

...3 Yr Old Thinkpad P51.

For reasons I do not care to get into I am still on Windows ver 1709 and I have not updated any of the Lenovo hardware components or drivers or let's just call it all updates for this machine. I am thinking of letting Lenovo updates and Windows updates have at it but I am not sure in what order I should do this. Lenovo updates first and then Windows updates or vice versa. Help appreciated. Mocking encouraged.

It has also occurred to me that an option is I should just wipe the hard drive and install the latest OS and then all of the Lenovo updates but that would of course require the install of all apps and I would REALLY not like to do this however does anyone believe this is indeed the way I should go about this? TIA.

How do i build a wall around Win 10 update

Just got my sys back from having it reset back to Win 8.1 from the disaster of the Win 10 update! NOW Win 10 is ready to go again!! can't find it in list of programs. i want to build a wall around it so it can't do any damage til it has less bugs, or never.

so how do i build that wall??

p.s. why do you think i have Win 7? i most certainly DO NOT!!! even this site is messed up!!

 

Lenovo Y510P (Unsupported for Win 10) Camera Driver Needed


Hello and welcome ksuthayya have had a look for a driver for your machine but there are only drivers listed up to 8.1 not 10.

Another Google found that there was no camera driver support for 10. for a similar Lenovo Lenovo Y510P (Unsupported for Win 10) Camera Drive... - Lenovo Community

Having said that my old Toshiba was in the same position and yet when I installed 10 Windows updates found drivers for stuff not listed on the Toshiba site.

Now a suggestion would be to get a clip on camera and install it via USB or like wise because it would have it owns driver. If my memory serves me right they are not that expensive - but still annoying eh?.

 

Lenovo U260 Windows 10 upgrade fails

I am installing Windows 10 update on my Lenovo Ideapad U260, but it stops at about 4% on the "blue circle" installation screen, with error 80070006-2000C.

(The U260 is not on Lenovo's supported systems list for Windows 10 upgrade, but it meets the basic Win 10 spec and is not on the list of Ideapads which it expressly suggests not to upgrade to Win 10. I assumed that just because it is not supported, that
doesn't mean I can't potentially upgrade successfully?)

Can anyone help me out? Thanks,
