Windows 10: basic shortcuts and hot keys not working

Hello,
I am using Windows 10pro version 1903 OS Build: 18362.295


Since a day I am having couple of problems:

• Short cut keys like ctrl+v, ctrl+C not working, but all others like Wind+S, Shift+Delt, Alt+Ctrl+Del working fine.
• I also can't use volume up down, brightness up down, wifi hot keys as Hp is not providing any specific driver for those in their website as my laptop model is concerned. Causing unable to customize volume while playing full screen media files. But these are features can be controlled from icons. Drivers of these features are working fine and up to date.
• While I start up laptop, I am unable to type anything as my PIN, but other lock screen options are working fine. it will only let my type my sign-in pin when I select once for forgot-pin option and cancel that.

But the moment I press F7 or Volume down, it asking for caret browsing and F4 or Mute key directing to browser url section etc

I have reset my pc already once but didn't help. Restarted many times, flushed BIOS but didn't help.


Please help anyone.

When playing games the hot keys are active

I suggest you to follow the steps below to disable Hot Keys and check if that helps.

• 
  Right click anywhere on your desktop screen and select Graphics Options.
  
• 
  Navigate to Hot Keys and then click on Disable.
  
• 
  Check if issue persists.

If you want to disable 'Hot keys related to Display" in Windows 10,

Kindly follow these steps.

1. Right click on desktop

2. If you see Graphics Options, you can 'disable' Hot keys in sub menu itself.

3. If you see Graphics properties, in Options and Support, you can 'disable' Hot keys.

If Hot keys (Shortcut keys) are in Multimedia keyboard, you can use software associated with it, you can enable or disable the hot keys from the keyboard itself.

Windows 10 shortcut key not working - Please help

Hey guys,

I'm trying to create a shortcut key for a program/script that turns off my monitor. I've confirmed that the small program is working by double clicking on it. The problem I'm having is that when I go to create a shortcut key for it. First I create a shortcut to the program, then I set a shortcut key, say "ctrl-shift-s". After applying the changes, clicking Ok, I try to use the shortcut by pressing the ctrl-shift-s key combination. When I do this, nothing happens. I've confirmed that shortcut keys works with other apps like the Command Prompt. Does anyone have any insight to this?
