    Basic Windows functionalities aren't working as intended.


    Hello,Starting from 26th of December 2021, my PC has been acting up strangely. The system protection isn't working anymore, Windows Update can't install updates anymore and System Recovery doesn't work in both the Online version and in the Recovery environment. On top of that, Volume Shadow Service VSS vssadmin list writers shows that everything is stable with no errors and other services are throwing a lot of errors in the event logs Please see attachment. There's also a lot of DCOM error messages. There were some driver updates on the 26th of December through Windows Update too and I'v

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query at Microsoft community.

    Do the apps work fine apart form the icons not displaying correctly? If so I would suggest you to run an SFC scan and check if it helps. If the issue persists you may run DISM command and check.

    Follow this steps:


      • Press Windows+X.

      • Click on Command Prompt (Admin).

      • Type the command SFC /SCANNOW and
        DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and hit
        Enter.

    Thanks, have heard this before...is their a step by step procedure to OC using the bios settings you suggest.
    i don’t intend pushing this to its limit...but some increase would be great, any suggestions on a good air cooler ?
