Windows 10: Bass dissapeared and audio quality went down

Hello, 3 days ago when i started my PC21.01.25 i instantly heard something is wrong with audio. Very poor quality, 0 bass, before that my headset was jiggling very hard on bass songs on yt. Overall volume is lower, a little crispy, sounds like my sound card isnt plugged in. I have 2x the same headset, 2x voice card PCIE. i bought another headset and sound card after problem happened, same problem on every combination, with a little different sound, probably because i bought used headset less worn outIm connected via jack 3.5mm splitted into pink/green microphone/audio plug. No bass after Windows Update

Thank you for the response. It is Windows 10 Version 1703.

For myself,

Since the sound quality changed immediately after the update of June 4th, I expected that the alteration of sound quality was due to something in the update, so I created a Restore point just before that update installation. No effect on sound quality.

Next I right clicked on the Sound icon at the bottom right of the taskbar. I thought I remembered a set of options to control treble and bass there, but that must have been years ago because there are no such options now.

Then I went to Control Panel-->Sounds. I thought I remembered controls for treble and bass adjustments there. If they ever were there, they aren't now.

Lastly I called or chatted with Microsoft tech support. They probably went through steps outlined in the official manual (I don't recall exactly what they were) but none produced any change in sound quality. I remember one of them had me download some
app or program which was supposed to enhance the bass element of sounds. It also did not enhance the bass element.

I have not reinstalled or updated the audio device driver nor was it suggested to me by Microsoft tech support. I have never done that before. Easy to do on some Microsoft support website?

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 (Realtek) - No bass/sub-woofer

• Speaker Setup plays all speakers fine
• Applications do not play any bass through subwoofer (or really, at all)
• Custom built PC using Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 motherboard onboard audio.
• Windows 10 fresh install
• Tried latest driver from Gigabyte, Realtek, and Microsoft
• Windows "default" driver does play bass through sub-woofer, but audio stutters and is quiet.

Not sure what else is relevant to mention; I've tried following various posts with suggestions to fix this, with no success. I've been at this for quite a few hours and am very frustrated.

Please let me know if you have any questions, or suggestions on how to resolve
