Battery apps and battery report lack data

Because the several battery usage apps I have installed do not display the usage data expected I have generated a report, as described on this site --- only to find most of the data is missing there too. Presumably there is something wrong in my computer's Settings. What is it and how do I put it right?

  2. Battery capacity - What should it be?

    Official battery capacity is 1450mAh.

Personally I think the diagnostics app isn't correctly reporting the capacity after observations during charging and real improved usage. With 3g and data on battery life is slightly better than my previous android phone now.

    How to stop USB Charger

sometimes, when i connetc my mobile to the laptop, the battery are filled !!

Is it possible to cause this lack of performance in the battery ?

And be a reason for the lack of battery life ?

Battery apps and battery report lack data

Which site? Where? Which report? A report about what? What data are you seeking that is missing in the report and about your battery?

Sorry, can you please be a little clearer, my crystal ball is currently down for scheduled maintenance...*chuckle. Thanks!

Sorry, I thought my post was clear! By "this site" I meant "this site" (like Brexit means Brexit?). "This site" is Windows Ten Forums. The report I referred to is a report on battery usage --- the subject of my post --- explained in the article which is on "this site" (see Generate Battery Energy Estimation Report in Windows 10". It is about how to generate a report on battery usage using CMD, thus: powercfg /batteryreport /output %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\battery_report.html /Duration days 7. The data I am seeking is battery usage and charging history statistics, one of main things the report is supposed to report on, and several battery usage apps (from the Store) are also supposed to report on. But they do not, on my PC. They cannot all be faulty, so clearly the fault lies on the machine itself, presumably in Settings --- maybe Tasks?

Thanks.. ''this site' - first, this site (tenforums) is big, so that in itself raised a question. Then there was the possibility you'd meant to insert a URL but not done so. And thanks for clarifying the info you're looking for, and the link. I wasn't aware of this tutorial- there are many, and I often search the list.

Could you post your report for comparison? Thanks.

(Brexit is far from clear- hard Brexit- soft Brexit? Maybe no Brexit in the end? Boris Johnson (Foreign secretary) was told he didn't understand the terms for Brexit... and most of the population of the UK was left totally bemused and unclear as to what it would mean before the vote... many voted on one issue, felt emotion, or some misleading comment - all of which led to what some have said was the worst day in our political history - and there have been some bad ones).

Below I have Copy / Pasted a report generated by the PC. As you can see (I hope) most of the expected battery data is simply not there. I have four Store apps monitoring the battery, two of which concentrate on displaying battery usage statistics in tables and graphs. But they also do not show the data. The battery is reported to have zero charge when in fact it has up to 100%. I have been frequently getting an annoying pop-up notification saying the battery has 0% charge and to 'connect the charger', when it is connected and charging. I have examined Settings and Tasks Library but have not found anything to explain this.

It is important to me to be able to monitor the battery in my 2-in-1 tablet

Battery apps and battery report lack data

It gets even stranger. I have looked at the (some the same, some different) battery apps on my Windows Lumia Phone and found some display the usage stats for the phone but others do not. In particular the apps which should concentrate on the stats on the PC, show the same zero results on the phone. I do not know what this means but surely it suggests that the fault is not exclusive to my PC after all. So could it be yet another bug in Windows 10, on both devices?

  10. The first thing I suggest you do is a Battery Calibration

I also use and recommend BatteryCare (free) as suggested above for day to day battery information

To create a log of battery usage I use BatteryInfoView it's free and portable so you can test it and see if it helps you without installing anything.

    Hello

Battery Info View does not provide the history of battery usage which is what I need, for example to identify if the battery is charging when it is reported and what the balance of power in to power out is.

BatteryCare cannot be installed without an update, which is blocked as a Trojan risk by Norton Anti-virus. I have reported this to Softpedia.

5 Tools to Analyze Laptop Battery Life

However if there is an underlying Windows issue (= no data acquired) on which these depend, then they may not help. If you can get to run one and get no data, you'll be back to fixing Windows, I'd guess.

Battery apps and battery report lack data

All the battery data in the Battery report is retrieved from the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)

You can query the WMI directly using a PowerShell cmdlet. From a command prompt use...
    powershell gwmi win32_battery
    ...more on that here: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/...battery-power/

What I have a problem with is that ever since I did a Bios upgrade WMI is convinced the Design Capacity of my battery is about a tenth of its true design capacity. I haven't yet found a way to reset WMI except the nuclear option...

    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/...mi-repository/

...so I guess I'm going to have to live with it. All the estimates of battery charge and remaining time are still accurate. Even the pretty graphs in the Battery Report look right. Its just that since October it's been saying...
