Windows 10: Battery Life from almost 8 hours to now about 2.5 hours

My laptop is Acer Swift 3

From the first time since I bought this laptop in October 2018, the battery life has been good, giving me around 6-8 hours (normal usage (browsing, watching video, etc.), no gaming, no editing). Acer claimed it can last up to 12 hours.

Until last month, I used my laptop for just 2 hours (light usage like browsing, watching videos, etc.) and then it goes from 100% to 20%, and when it reached 20%, it immediately shut down. I never experience a shut-down on battery until this one.

The icon shows 3 hours with 91% remaining, but it is for sure less than 3 hours. Previously it can show 6-8 hours. Sometimes when I tried to "see which apps are affecting your battery life", the settings crashed and closed automatically. It shows

I was studying by reading notes that is in .pdf format (10 pages), and it shows 42% on Adobe Acrobat. It literally shows what I'm running the most as the biggest percentage. Ex: If I run windows explorer and do nothing, it will show windows explorer on the first place with the biggest percentage. If I open settings and do nothing, it does the same although technically it does not consume the battery much

Is this a Windows 10 problem, and what could be the fix?



Edit: wear level is 8% (CPUID HWMonitor), and i tried resetting the battery by inserting pin on the back, nothing changed

Battery at 10% life after 5 hour charge

All day I just send sms, read emails, respond to friends on FB and read my feeds. I have not turned off the phone all day. At my work 3G is full bars and at home it is half bars. when I went to bed that night the battery was at half life. I sent about 6
texts and then I plugged it into the charger. The next morning (5 hours later), I unplugged it and just noticed that only 10% battery life was left. I couldn't charge my battery all day untill I got home from work. I plugged in my phone when I got home and
now (3 hours later) the battery is at 100%. I need to know if they are working on this issue?

Hmmm, lemme see a link to that, and then I'll revise the link *Wink . I get about 4 hours of battery life on my (dad's *Stick Out Tongue ) Gateway laptop with Windows Vista, a Pentium D (or something like that, it's got two cores), and a gig of RAM. But, I'm assuming that this five-hour barrier is being broken with a simple 6 cell battery. Plug some of these things into 8 or 12 cell batteries, and you've got some nice battery life *Smile .

I have the same problem with my kin every day I have to plug in the kin. With the way batteries are today with people getting 360 hours of battery life on other phones it would seem that microsoft would get better batteries for everyone with a kin.
