Windows 10: Battery Not Detected in Windows 10 - Fixed it.

So.... I had this issue after replacing the battery in my HP Spectre X360 15. I got an error message that said, battery not detected. Tried ALL the many software fixes I saw on YT. Nothing worked. Updated BIOS, uninstall/reinstall drivers, Windows update, remove/clean and reinstall battery, etc. NADA! It occurred to me that the only thing I didn't try was flipping the connector from the battery upside down. I thought, what the hell! Flipped it over, plugged it in and, VIOLA! Battery detected! Now let's see if it charges up! Stay tuned!

"No Battery is Detected" message

"No Battery Is Detected" appears at the bottom right side in the task bar. Desktop runs on Windows 10. Checked Device Manager, under Battery, only the external battery APC-UPS (un-interrupted power supply) is listed and shows "Device is Working Properly". When I tried to update the driver (suggested by Microsoft Help website), got "Driver has the most up-to-date driver, and don't need to update". I did not try another suggestion on the Help site, which is to uninstall this battery and re-install, because I'm afraid that if I uninstall it, it disappear from the Batteries list in Device Manager, and I don't know how to find it to reinstall. My questions are:

1. What battery is this message about?

2. Should there be another battery (an internal one inside the computer, the one that keeps the clock running when you unplug power when going on vacation) listed under Batteries in Device Manager?

3. How to fix this? Apparently something is wrong.

Battery not detected (Unknown remaining)

Hi,

First of all I suggest you to try with a driver remove and reinstall with Device Manager. To do so:

1. Press WINDOWS + X

2. Click on "Device Manager"

3. Click on "Battery"

4. Right click on the first element on list

5. Click on "Remove"

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the second element on list

7. Click on "Detects Hardware change" (monitor icon)

Then reboot your system and check if the problem still exists.

Please tell me if the solution works.

 

Battery not detected after upgrade to Windows 10

Clean 'Windows 10 Pro' install is detecting the only battery (Battery 1 as Battery 2: and shows

Battery 1: Not present

Battery 2: xx% and charging.

System seems to work OK and charging normal, maybe not an issue but 'Windows 7 Pro' shows batteries correctly. Will continue looking for a solution.

Chris F. H. suggestion works until reboot then Windows 10 incorrectly lists batteries again.

-Go to Device Manager (Win Key + x), select Device manager

-Expand the "Batteries" entry in the device list

-Right click, and then click "Uninstall" on each battery showing as installed.

-Right click again on "Batteries", and click "Scan for hardware changes."
