Windows 10: battery plugged in not charging, since downloading Windows 10

I have an ongoing issue with the message "plugged in not charging" I have tried remedies as advised on the internet, u.tube, Windows help, etc. I have found many people asking the same question, and would like to know, WHERE DO I FIND THE ANSWERS. There seems to be literally thousands of questions, but no answers.

Plugged In, Not Charging

Sometimes depending on your Windows 10 Build, your battery will not charge to 100%, this extends the life of your battery . . . plug out the laptop, drain the battery for 10 - 15 minutes, plug it back in and see if it starts to charge the battery

If however, your battery is not charging at all in Windows 10, follow these steps to rectify this issue:

• Disconnect Power Supply
• Remove battery
• Connect Power Supply
• Turn on the laptop
• Control Panel - Device Manager
• Under the Batteries category, right-click all instances of Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery , and Uninstall
• Shutdown
• Disconnect Power Supply
• Insert battery
• Connect Power Supply
• Turn on the laptop

Battery not charging when plugged in.

I run a herd of HP notebooks. When I hit this issue, I do this with 100% success -

1 I swap out the battery

2 I swap out the little harness that connects the plug end of the charger to the mother board

3 Change the motherboard

I doubt I have ever solved this issue with steps with 1 and 2.

I get guaranteed results with step 3.

I always play around with all the suggested power off's, the battery checking, etc, before the new motherboard. Contrary to a lot of theories, a new motherboard of same specs does not deactivate 10. Been there, done that.

Windows 10 - Battery "Plugged in, not charging"

From the moment I updated to Windows 10 my laptop battery has 0% charge and will not work without being plugged in and says "0% available - plugged in, not charging" Can anyone suggest a fix that doesn't involve turning on without being plugged in as that
doesn't work?
