Windows 10: BCD is missing/corrupted

Hello, my pc doesn't boot properly due there being a problem with its Boot Configuration Data, I had done a factory reset a few days ago and windows need to update apparently so I went to restart so my pc could update but but it didn't and now it says my BCD is either missing or corrupted, read that you could use sfc scan to fix it but how do you even do that if windows won't boot period. Do I need to get a new copy of windows 10according to the requirements my pc doesn't meet the right specifications for windows 11 when I bought it, windows 10 home was pre installed on it, so I don't have t

Error code 0xc000000f, BCD corrupted

Hi Andre,

As per the description, I suggest that you follow the steps below to fix BCD

1. Right click on the Start Menu and select Command Prompt (Admin)

2. Here type/paste the commands listed below

Bootrec /fixMBR

Bootrec /fixBoot

Bootrec /RebuildBcd

3. Once done restart the PC and check.

What causes "Missing or Corrupt BCD file"

Recently my laptop blue screened with an error message that the BCD file was missing or corrupt. I recently had done Windows up dates (Windows 10) and an iTunes update. I did not mess with any particular Windows files.

Does anyone know what causes this problem so that I may attempt to avoid it in the future?

I have my laptop up and running, but would rather NOT have to go through the recovery steps again in the future.
