After wasting several hours in forums and other DITY nonsense I called Insignia. I didn't do this initially because customer service everywhere is almost always horrible. Lo and behold they solved problem in 5 minutes. God FORBID, of course, that they would just put this simple information on their website... of course that is just pathetic, but expected par for the course Device manager -> bcm20702a… -> Update driver -> Browse my computer NOT web; NOT automatically -> pick from drivers on my computer "--> Let me pick from a list of available drivers o

INSIGNIA USB Bluetooth Adapter Not Compatible?

The INSIGNIA USB Bluetooth Adapter I purchased from Best Buy did not come with a driver. Plugged it in, nothing. Called Contact Us for this product Insignia - Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter - Black (insigniaproducts.com), managed to find "Update Driver" for the device, clicked on Broadband>BCM20702A0 Bluetooth 2.4 GHz Single Chip Tranceiver, and an Update Driver Warning results telling me the driver is not recommended nor is it verified as being compatible. Basically, it's a doomsday warning that put an end to the help the woman on the other end of the phone was willing to provide.

I have Windows 10, so what's the problem?

Is there a different manufacturer's driver listed there that I could choose instead of Broadcom? I tried the other two under Broadcom, and the same warning pops up.

The lady on the help call mentioned it could be there are restrictions on what I can update or something, but I am the administrator, so what I am I doing wrong?

Thank you for any help to get me past the dreaded Update Driver Warning.

 

BCM20702A0 Insignia Bluetooth adapter not working, driver error/unavailable driver

I have tried all the steps on all the advised ways to update the driver for the Insignia USB-Bluetooth 4.0 dongle. NONE work. I have purchased a 'driver' updater and it did not work. Got my $ back. There seems to be NO solution to this issue. I don't own an HP computer but an Intel based NUC computer. I will likely try an ASUS dongle. They seem to supply the drivers for their device. Insignia DOES NOT.
