Windows 10: being asked for a local windows password that I don't have

Dear experts and fellow windows users,I have been using windows 10 on my Toshiba PC for more than six years and never had trouble signing in with PIN. Yesterday I set up a local account for my wife but today I found it is the only account on this PC.I then tried to link that local account with my Microsoft account. After signing in to Microsoft, I was asked to "enter the password for the local windows account for the last time". I got stuck there since I don't remember setting up a local password other than the PIN. Please help me to get around this. I don't even see a promt of resetting passw

Forgot Local Password

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and reset the password for the local account and check.

• 
  Login in to your Microsoft account.
  
• 
  Press Windows logo key + X key.
  
• 
  Select Computer Management.
  
• 
  Click on Local user and group.
  
• 
  In the right window pane, double click on user’s folder.
  
• 
  Right click on local user account and select set password and follow the on screen instructions.

Local Account password changed to Online Account Password

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps on how to switch from Microsoft account to Local account:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Local account instead.
• Enter your Microsoft account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the Local account and click OK.
• Now, login to Local account.
