Windows 10: Being unable to import media to any software

For some reason, recently, i started having issues when attempting to import media into programs for editing, I know this error is not related to the program itself since i've already uninstalled and re-installed it, and also because it doesnt occur with just that specific program, for some reason upon attempting to import media it allows me to select which media i'd wish to import as normal, but when i hit accept or double click, nothing happens, no error message, no crash, nothingThere is more than enough space in the computer's disk, the media is fine and can be reproduced normally so it is
