Best Email to use with Edge

Just survived a really bad hack on AT&T/Yahoo email so I'm* looking for the best email to use with Edge.* An email app that is clean but very functional.* That is one of the reasons I really like Edge.

I do have one major question before I close.
Is there any method to retain my current email address without be tied back to AT&T/Yahoo?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    :)

You can forward your emails from the Yahoo account to new account.

Mouse over the Settings menu icon | select Settings. Click Accounts in the left pane. Click on the
Yahoo email account. Select Forward. Enter and verify the address you want to
forward your email to and select: Store and
    forward
-Email is saved to your account and sent to the forwarding address.

Automatic email forwarding in Yahoo Mail | Yahoo Help ...

    help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN22028.html

This will give you time to notify your contacts of your new address.

    Hi Louis,

We understand that you're very tired of the hacking issue you've been through with your previous email.

That being said, we give you the Outlook mail and using your very own Microsoft account!

You can check these links for reminders and tips on how you can make your email multiple times secured:

Regarding your question, if your email domain is still from the previous email client, it seems that it will still be connected with it.

Oh, by the way, make sure that the password you'll create is as strong as you, as this is a very important contribution in securing your account.

Let us know if you have further queries.

    Regards.

I like outlook.com and I use with browser. If you want an app there is one and you can load on Win 10 and phones. (iOS or Android). Has some limitation around contacts on phones. (wasn't working last time I checked.)

Second question. Yes within reason you can keep but be at arm's length. You would "Forward" your mail from Yahoo to your new account. When you reply people will see it coming from new address. When you forward you can just forward or forward and keep copy. I would just forward so you don't have to maintain two accounts.

Going a step further you can also use their Auto responder (Vacation response) to send an email to everyone who sent you one telling them of your new address.

You could add the Yahoo account to outlook.com but I would not.

You can also export your contacts from Yahoo and import them in Outlook.com.

Not sure what your hack was, if they broke into your account that is not good. That said if you change your password to a secure password and enable two step verification the likelihood of a repeat occurrence is near enough nil. Each time you log in from a strange device you are challenged. They send you a text and only you have your phone. On your daily devices it does not challenge everyday. If you use apps to access your mail they will provide you with a process to generate an app password which you key in once into app. It is long and complex..

Outlook.com has similar process. You can also install the Google Authenticator app which generates codes so no texts.

Two step is the only way to go these days. If you are interested you can investigate and members can help.

Thank you Ken. Received the hacking email on our W10 PC. A super email tech from MS guided me through the solution which was just as you wrote. Based on two recommendations I'm going to use Outlook. Now I must learn how to link it with my Edge browser and import from ATT/Yahoo.

Ref - "Going a step further you can also use their Auto responder (Vacation response) to send an email to everyone who sent you one telling them of your new address."

I assume the Vacation response should be sent from ATT/Yahoo. Is that correct?

  6. Yes, you would set up the Auto responder / vacation in Yahoo. Most of these type services send one email a day to people who sent you mail. Some are immediate, some wait and send email late at night.
