  1. Best external monitor configuration: 8/10-bit, 30/60 Hz, RGB/YCBCR420/440

Hi all, So I've recently bought a Samsung LU28R550UQRXEN 4k 10-bit monitor and a Samsung Galaxy Book2 15 NP750XED-KB2NL, with Intel Iris Xe graphics. As you can see in the image provided current output is 4K/8-bit/60hz with YCBCR420. I can change settings in the Intel graphics command center to RGB/YCBR_420/444. Changing to RGB allows me to select 10-bit display, however the maximum resolution then drops to FullHD. 1. Is there a way to get 4k/10-bit/60hz? Currently connecting laptop to monitor using the HDMI cable that came with the monitor assuming that is 2.0 HDMI?

    :)

30 hz refresh not available for 4K HDMI on 2nd external monitor

I am trying to get a second external monitor to work at 4K on my Lenovo Yoga. Using 2 LG Ultrafine 27" monitors. The first one was put in service around Nov 30 of 2021 and worked fine. I was using W10 at the time. I got the second monitor in February and was still on W10. Both monitors worked at 4K along with the 14" Laptop screen until a few days ago. I bit the bullet and took the W11 dive a few weeks ago. The 4K monitors all worked fine. Recently, W11 did an update and I lost the capability of having both monitors run at 4K. One of the monitors is using a USBC to Display Port adapter and works fine. The other was using a 4K HDMI port via a proper HDMI cable. After the update, the monitor wouldn't even recognize the HDMI input. After much investigation and scrambling, I got the 2nd monitor to run at 1080p using a USB 3.0 to Display Port adapter. But that was all I could get. I found that I only had a 60 hz and 50 hz refresh rate option on that port. I think I could get the 4K if I had a 30 hz option. I want this bad enough to roll back to W10 to see if that will work. Unfortunately that option is gone.

So... is there any chance that the developers might get a flash of insight and add the option for 30 hz. Why on earth would there not be one in the first place? Bottom line is that I want my two LG Ultrafines to run at 4K. Should I roll back to W10 or is it conceivable that they will fix W11? Or is there another option?

"input signal out of range, change to 1600 x 1050 @ 60 HZ"

    Hi,

Here are the reasons why you're getting the "input signal out of range, change to 1600 x 1050 @ 60 HZ" error:

    • The monitor cannot accommodate the set refresh rate (e.g. 60Hz).
    • Outdated graphics card driver

For us to effectively assist you with this, we'd like to know the following:

    • Which build and version of Windows 10 are you running on your device?
    • What is the maximum possible refresh rate can be set for your monitor (refer to monitor's manual)?
    • Were there any changes made to your computer prior to this issue?

We're looking forward to your reply.

4k display flickering on HP z24s monitor on 60 Hz with DP1.2

About a year and half ago I bought a new 4k monitor: HP Z24s.
    The very first batch.

And there has been a constant disappointment. I decided to not return the display to the shop, because everything else was perfect, i.e.: colors, overall quality, price, etc.

The monitor is connected to Radeon R9 390 8G Sapphire Nitro adapter with 3 meters DisplayPort 1.2 cable.

The problem only appears when I try to set the refresh rate to 60 Hz.

On 30 Hz everything works as expected.

Sometimes, the problem is solved when I set the refresh to 30 Hz, restart
Windows 10 LTSB, and then set the refresh rate back to 60 Hz again.

The cable isn't the problem -- I tested it using another display on 60 Hz and everything worked fine. I also tried the cable using different R9 graphics cards (all from different manufacturers). The problem also persists when using another cable altogether.

I starts when I play a full-screen game, or sometimes at seemingly random times with no obvious cause..

Also, I updated monitor driver, and some time it looked good, but with every second AMD driver update I get this problem off and back.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem, or have a similar experience with this display?

P.S.: On Linux Mint 17..18, everything works like a charm -- no flickering on 60 Hz, both with opensource and proprietary drivers. However, on Mint 18 the are opensource only. And Windows, there is no difference if I set the color depth for HP monitor to 8-bit or 10-bit per color.
So bandwidth is not the issue probably.
