Windows 10: Best "Pci" Graphics Card for Pentium 4

Wondering what the best Pci card for a Pentium 4 I should buy. Any Suggestions? Thanks!

Lenovo N581 - Windows 10 - I can't use my screen brightness properly

Well I downgraded to Windows 7. Turns out Lenovo N581 Graphics Card (Intel Pentium B960, the graphics card is called "Intel HD Graphics") is not supported in Windows 10, nor will it ever be. There are ways to getting around it, but they aren't certified
to work properly, so I just got back to what works. Thanks for the help, though!

 

" Waiting for approval " until when !????

It means that it's waiting for approval from your operator and it has nothing to do with Nokia.

You could call your operator and ask about this approval, someone in technical service may know that how long it takes to approve the newest firmware. (For some reason, every operator has to approve the firmware updates and only after that their clients
can do the update)

 

You may be somewhat limited as PCI hasn't been used for awhile, was more or less replaced by AGP which in turn are replaced by PCIe X16 slots on motherboards. Also limiting is whether PCI cards are supported by Win10.

 

I tried a search at Newegg. Results:

Slim pickings, but there's a single nVidia card (9400 GT) and a few Radeon 3450 cards. nVidia has drivers for the 9400 GT, although I wonder whether they like PCI cards. (PCI was state of the art - in 1995.) The 3450s may not have official Win 10 drivers, although I see that they have legacy drivers through Win 8. (Those may work.)

These are a lot more expensive than low-end PCI-E cards, but obsolete parts usually are expensive.

 

As I recall that model Dell ran a 32-bit Operating System [but could have been able to do 64-bit]. According to Crucial it has a maximum of 2GB RAM [2 slots x 1GB each DDR-333 or DDR-400].

That would barely be enough for 64-bit version of Windows but should run the 32-bit version just fine, I have a couple of similar old ones with WinXP but have sent several to recycle, just not up to the current needs. It has onboard graphics so the memory for that is subtracted from the total physical RAM, tends to handicap the OS in some situations.

 

AGPs should work though. The best card you get for AGP is the HD 4670

 

As far as I can determine, the Dimension 2400 has no AGP slot.

Dell shows only an accessory PCI card, Radeon 7350 SFF 512MB DDR3 PCI 3M DMS59, however the image of the card indicates it may be for a different type slot. Also of note, I don't think the DVI connection was available for older computers and PCI cards.
