About 5 month ago, I went to a fiber net ISP - well pleased. I am using a WRT1900AC (I think they have an even newer model out now) from Linksys. This router has software that allows me to monitor my network from my iPhone. Has been extremely reliable and the distance and range are the best I have ever had...and that is at least 6 routers. Have streaming on the 5GHz and the 2.4GHYz is for everything else. Easy setup even thought I used manual rather than the automatic setup and linking. Rock Solid!

I generally use Netgear, currently have the R6300. It has been a great router, with 7 PCs, 6 phones and 6 TVs all running through it, not a bit of lag or problem. Our WiFi gets 866mbps down to 300mbps depending on adapter. Has everything we need. But the main thing I love about Netgear is their support. When the ACs first came out, it was a bit confusing, and they were great, quick and listened to what the actual problems were. Very responsive.

I would recommend them to anyone.

  3. I had Belkin replaced 2 times for free, but wifi still had problems, so I got Linksys instead, works like a charm.

Same here. For such a cheap router, it does a lot, it even has IPv6 support, which most routers lack.

Same one I got for at least last 3, or 4 years, think its 4 years. No problems, don't use WiFi thou, everything is hard wired. also never have updated the firmware, after reading of different problems AFTER updating the firmware, so I've just left it alone. *Smile

I love my E1200 , I only use the wireless when my Daughter is home from The U of A.

The biggest downfall with the RT-AC66U is that the USB speeds to an external drive are horrible. Why not USB 3.0 - best throughput I got was 1Mb and that is slower than USB 1.0 specs. Hope a next firmware will correct this. It is however one of the best routers I have had if I talk about features out of the box.

I think that is the reason lots of people use the Merlin modified stock ASUS firmware as ASUS actually borrows from his changes as well.

I still have yet to ever use a Router , supposedly wired ethernet is going to be faster than wireless anyway and i don't find it burdensome at all .

I'm probably one of the few lol.

I have a Netgear WNDR4500 and am looking for something a little better but, to date, haven't been impressed, will look into the ones listed TechSpot.

Most wireless routers also feed into wired connections. The antique I'm currently using (D-Link DIR651) controls wired gigabit connections to 3 of my devices while supplying wifi connections for a laptop, the box I'm using for Insider Preview and a wireless phone.

After reading that article and then checking user reviews on Amazon and Newegg I decided to order the TP Link C7. This router has gigabit Ethernet and (apparently) good 2.4 gHz WiFi coverage for <$90. It's not designed to stand on its' side, but it can be wall-mounted.
