    Best use of a U.2 connector on my motherboard?


    Ok... I have one of these on my motherboard. The problem... I have a 2TB WD Black (3.5"), that I want to use as an internal HDD. My motherboard only has 4x SATA 6Gb/s ports. They are all taken. (SSD, DVD Burner, 4TB and 8TB HDDs) I have 2x M.2 (M) ports and a U.2 port all unused.

    Motherboard power connector

    I have a HP Pavilion p6-2300f desktop, Window 10. I just added a newer dvd writer to it. I had not issue in accomplishing that task. Somehow, I unplugged the connector for the power button. I do know where I should plug it in. I have attache a picture of the connector

    This perhaps a question for HP Support or the relevant HP Forum. My Gigabyte motherboard has a Front Panel Header connector shown below. I guess yours might have a similar connector in which case you need to be careful to use the right pins and really need a diagram of the motherboard connectors.
