Windows 10: Beware that 24H2 messing Enable/Disable Windows Features, VirtualBox, DSMC, etc...

Posting this for other people having 24H2 update problems.My perfect functional Windows 11 machine, went to useless after 24H2 update. I can't open virtual machines in VirtualBox where I'm making most of my work, they crash unexpectedly. I can't open Windows features Enable/Disable, it get stuck endless with a charging icon. I can't open "History>Uninstall Updates", it also freezes in an endless icon loading.If I make sfc /scannow it works reporting zero problems. If I try the DSIM tool to check health, it hungs after showing the legal first two lines and not appears to operate never. I le

Sun VirtualBox

Been there and done that. Followed through enabling the 3D acceleration and as told i hit the "Install Guest Addition" to install the drivers in the guest operating system, after that i was told to reboot the VirtualBox and came to the blue windows XP shutdown screen... It was on that screen for more then 30mins and so i force a shutdown on the original Win7 OS to et rid of the VirtualBox OS shutdown screen. Rebooted and tested VirtualBox with the game and got the same error message as shown in my first post.

EDIT: Gone through all the steps till i came to rebooting the VirtualBox OS. After the system coming up normally, i checked if the 3D acceleration is enabled by running dxdiag. Here is what i get...





Need advise to fix 3D acceleration so i can go on. Thank you so much!

steps 1 and 2 are to make Virtual Machines using possible under HyperSLI. Example winxp mode, virtualbox and so on

 

windows media features

Disabling and enabling Windows Media feature is another way of uninstalling and reinstalling the feature. You can try to disable and then enable the Media feature and see if it works. Please follow the steps below:

• Search for Control Panel on the Search bar.
• Click on Programs, and go to Programs and Features.
• Select Turn Windows features On or Off.
• Uncheck the Media Feature box to disable the Media Features.
• Hit OK to complete.
• Go through the same process, but check the Media Feature box to enable the Media Features again.
