Discus and support Bewildered at the array of options for a simple thing. in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; So I'll try to keep this short as possible...     So I'll try to keep this short as possible...


    I've decided to fix up my older gaming laptop to be of use again for someone else but two questions have arisen I should mention here that I'm tech savvy ONLY when it comes to building/swapping out parts in PC's and have never done well with software/fiddly stuff


    So anyway, this laptop from 2015 has Win 8.1 installed on an admittedly older and worn out m.2 as purchased that I'd like to replace while upgrading to Win 10. I imagine I'd swap the m.2 first but then... I've no idea without a Win 10 USB, which is how I did for my desktop build

    Just to note, I can get a product key for Win 10 easily enough, if that'll do the job. Also, when I tried a few years ago to take up the free Win 10 upgrade offer for the laptop in question it wouldn't do it... something about an ISO... so it didn't get done and I'm still not much wiser tbh.


    So, what's the best way for me to go about and succeed without too much trouble for the above?

    I suggest the following simple steps:

    1. Set the autosave options in MS Office to a low value say 5 minutes.
    2. Setup file history to autosave frequently - the shortest period is 5 mins
    3. Install Macrium Reflect Free and configure it to do a daily incremental system backup

    You should be well covered if you do the above to protect your key files.

    We would be glad to help you with the issue you are facing today. I understand the difficulty with the problem.

    Issue: Mic Array

    Method: 1

    Step: 1

    Hardware & devices troubleshooter.

    • Press “Windows key + W” and type “troubleshooting”.
    • Select “Troubleshooting”.
    • Select “View all” on the top left corner.
    • Click “hardware & devices”.
    • Follow the on-screen instruction to run the troubleshooter.
    Step: 2

    I would suggest you to contact the manufacturer website to download latest available drivers.



    Issue: unable to print

    The issue you have reported usually occurs if the drivers needed for the device are not installed properly or if the drivers are not compatible with the Operating System.

    If the drivers for the device are not yet available for Windows 10, hence I suggest you to reinstall them in compatibility mode.

    Follow the steps below to install the driver in compatibility mode and see if it helps:

    • Right click on the setup file of the driver and select
      Properties
    • Select Compatibility Tab
    • Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list
    • Click OK and run the setup.

    I would suggest you to visit manufacturer's website and install the latest available driver for the device in

    compatibility mode.

    • Do let us know the make and model of your computer?
    • Have you installed HP simple pass software on your computer?

    Try the below steps and check if it helps.

    Step 1: I suggest you to download the latest HP Simple Pass software from the manufacturer's website install it and check if it helps.

    Step 2: If you have already installed the software, I suggest you to re-install it and check if the issue persists.

    Follow the steps to Access Recovery Manager:

    • Press Start button from the keyboard, type Recover Manager.
    • Select Recovery Manager from the list when it becomes available. Allow the action to continue, if prompted. The
      HP Recovery Manager opens.
    • Click Software program re-installation, Next , select
      HP SimplePass for the listing and then follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall application
