Windows 10: big noise when unmuting speakers

Hi everyoneI have external speakers connected to my laptop in my home desktop setup. They are connected via a USB-C dongle that allows me to connect two screens and all my accessories to my laptop with only one cable. The speakers are plugged into one monitor's audio jack and work normally. The only issue is that when no sound is playing for a short while before a sound plays for example a system sound the speakers emit a huge crazy loud white-noise-like sound before working normally. The sound is very short and loud. It seems like a thing when the speakers are waking up from some kind of slee

Unmute Speakers

I am no longer able to unmute my speakers by clicking on the Icon. Is there another way to correct this?

speakers wont "unmute" on taskbar

our volume on speakers is in mute position and it wont unmute if we go into setting it will play test sounds but wont unmute on task bar and we cant hear

Hi Ruth,

This issue might have been caused by a misconfigured settings or incompatible driver. For us to unmute the microphone, please follow these steps:

• At the system tray, right-click on the volume icon.
• Select Recording devices.
• On the Sound window, make sure that you are on the Recording tab.
• On the list of recording devices, double-click on your microphone device.
• Properties window will open. Click on Levels tab.
• Increase the Microphone slider to maximum.
• Click the speaker icon next to it to unmute the microphone.
• Click on Apply, and then click on OK to save changes.
