Big problem with BSOD, reinstalling windows constantly

    PC specs:

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070ti Zotac

    Motherboard: Asus PRIME B450M-GAMING/BR

    Ram: Crucial Balistix 16GB DDR4 2666Mhz

SSD: Kingston 120GB (where windows is installed)

    HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB

PSU: Corsair CX650M 650W 80+ Bronze Semi Modular

    Hello everybody,

I've been having PC problems for quite some time (my PC was built 2 years ago, since then in June I changed the motherboard hoping it would fix the problem and upgraded my CPU cooler from the stock) and I don't know what seems to be the issue to fix. The problem is usually when I play demanding games, at start-up and shutdown. I have reinstalled windows a few times, the last time being yesterday, but the problem still arises. At start-up or shutdown, my pc doesn't turn on my mouse, keyboard or monitor (sometimes it turns them on but the screen stays black) but my fans run at 100%. On shutdown my screen turns off but my keyboard and mouse LED stay on, while my PC is still running but at full speed. Sometimes my everything turns on normal but my PC shuts down (usually before windows is booted up).

So already I have issues with that but nothing that really bothers me. But when I play games that are demanding, or when I stop playing a game, usually my fans turn very fast, the game crashes or I get a BSOD. What is so unusual is that sometimes a game will play fine, when I leave the game to go to another one, that is when I get the BSOD. I thought that fixing my motherboard would change something but no. I have reinstalled Windows 10 multiple times, cleaned out my SSD completely, reinstalled my drivers but no changes.

I have looked at my dump files and the problem is with "ntoskrnl.exe". So with that I scanned for corrupted files in my system file (by writing sfc /scannow in Windows PowerShell) but it didn't find anything. I then decided for it to scan my disk drive errors but writing "chkdsk /r" in the Windows PowerShell. That was yesterday. While checking disk drive errors, it was 70% done, and then my computer just restarts, saying that it is done, but I can't enter Windows, every time I tried to the Windows logo would just keep loading, a message appeared "sihost.exe Unknown Hard Error". I was forced to reinstall Windows. I haven't overclocked anything. These BSOD usually seem to arrive at the same time my PC fans start to speed up sort of uncontrollably. I don't have a anti-virus but I don't have any viruses that Windows is aware of, I don't go on any malicious websites nor open weird files from the internet.

So here I am, just being able to play a handful of games without it crashing or having a BSOD, having to constantly force shut my pc by holding the on/off button for 10 seconds since it mostly doesn't turn on the monitor while the fans are spinning at full power.

Is there any solution to this?? Is it a corrupt file, is it some faulty hardware? What is the problem with this PC?

    Thanks

  3. ughhh! BSOD on boot

I guess my computer BSOD on boot right before getting to windows. not sure what the problem is though, everything is stable.

It gave me a list of two files in windows that could have caused the problems

Big problem with BSOD, reinstalling windows constantly

Constantly reinstalling sound drivers after reboots

It's a Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi. I downloaded the drivers from the Creative website and they are dated 2015. Windows says they're the most up-to-date drivers available.

I noticed that there's a RealTek device listed in Device Manager and a couple of 'High Definition Audio Devices' listed, too, so I disabled them (see attached). Maybe that's where the problem lies. I'll have to reboot and see what happens.
