Windows 10: Bing wallpaper app disappeared

Bing Wallpaper app is installed for refreshing desktop background everyday, but suddenly it seems to have disappeared from everywhere i.e., from app list, control panel and windows feature list. Can't uninstall it and reinstall again. I am using Windows Insider build 22631.1835.

Cannot install Bing Wallpaper

You can try to uninstall the app and install a new app. To do so, follow the steps below:

1. Right-click on Start and select Windows Powershell (admin).

2. Type appwiz.cpl in the text field and press Enter.

3. On the Programs and Features page, find the Bing Wallpaper app.

4. Right-click on the app, select the Uninstall, and then follow the instructions.

5. After deleting the app, go to the Official website of Bing Wallpaper.

6. Click on the Install Now and then double-click BingWallpaper.exe.

If the Bing Wallpaper app is still not working, It may also be related to the damage of components in your store. You can try the following to repair your store.

1: Reset Store Cache



Try resetting the Store and see if that helps.

1. Press Windows key + R. This will open Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for 'Run'.
   
2. In Run dialog box, type 'wsreset.exe' and hit Enter.
   

Note: A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds, the window will close and Microsoft Store will open automatically.



2: Re-register Microsoft Store



Re-register Microsoft Store using PowerShell and see if that helps.

1. Press Windows + X keys together and click on Windows PowerShell (Admin).
   
2. Now type in the command and hit Enter: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
   
3. Restart the PC.
   

Then try the installation again.

How did you uninstall in Start? Check the App is actually gone in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features, also type CP in Search to open Control Panel and check Programs and Features. Not there? Check C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (86). If there take ownership of the BW folder using this handy right click shortcut which installs a Take Ownership shortcut to your right click menu to use in cases like this on files and folders which won't cooperate: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3841-add-ta...

Then delete the folder restart PC and try reinstalling again.
