    Hello, I have an ASUS P450LA that can support up to 8GB of RAM, only 1 slot. But somehow the BIOS only see 4GBs of RAM despite my RAM stick is an 8GB. I've tried cleaning it but nothing happens, it still shows 4GB

    Hi There,

    I've just upgraded my pc from 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM. Windows seems to have detected this upgrade but why does it show as only 4GB RAM available. The following is what I have tried so far with no luck:

    • I have tried the msconfig method on ensuring maximum memory is not checked.
    • physically removed the new RAM and reinstalled it
    Any thoughts/suggestions on how i can resolve this matter?

    Compare performance between 12gb ram (8gb + 4gb) and 8gb ram (4gb x 2)

    Hi skyherobrine,

    I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    The more RAM you have the bester your PC will perform, so, 12GB of RAM will be better than 8GB of RAM, so 4GB + 8GB will be better than 4GB + 4GB for performance.

    I am experiencing a problem with my ASUS VivoBook X571GT. The BIOS detects 12GB of RAM, but Windows 11 64-bit only shows 4GB. This is affecting my system's performance. Here are the details:
