  1. Bios HDD Reboot and Select... Windows

    Hi,

Ive been troubleshooting this problem for hours and hours and have not been able to find a solution. I had recently upgraded to Windows 10 from USB Installation using Windows Media Creator. I got an SSD NVMe M.2 to switch windows over to this morning before finding out that I have to fiddle with BIOS settings in order to let this work, so after about an hour of testing I decided to return back to my computers old state and replug my HDD into the motherboard. When booting I was greeted with “Reboot and Select proper Boot device”, so thinking cables may have been loose I unplugged refixed any tangles and booted computer again. I had the same issue each time. Ive already been into BIOS and looked at boot order, the only device that shows up currently is SATA : {hdd name} : PART 0 : Boot Drive. When booting this up I still get greeted with the same near instant Reboot and Select command line prompt. Ive tried using the families computers HDD in my motherboard to see if it was my hardware, but it loads up windows fairly okay (however its 32bit and Vista so will not continue after flashing windows logo as expected). Ive tried putting my HDD into the family motherboard to see if it is my HDD - when I got the same message. When booting from family HDD however I can access my own HDD from disk management and see all data in the HDD. I tried to reinstall windows using the USB method again but now my USB will not be detected by bios. Ive tried almost everything and honestly have no idea how to fix this or what has gone wrong. I have the feeling either my BIOS settings are wrong or my HDD Windows OS is slightly corrupted or partially overwritten.

    :)

  2. reboot and select property boot device

You need to set your main Harddrive which has your Operating System on as the first harddrive to boot, if have more than one harddrive.

    open Bios
    boot priority
Select the OS harddrive as first boot drive , If not sure switch between them
Set correct time and date if wrong
    Save and reboot

If not sure on steps , give the Make and model number of motherboard and can assist you.

Hopefully no damage to the HDD

    USB HDD: IN BIOS

Hi AJAY, in modern BIOS (UEFI) it is normal to have USB devices listed, such as USB HDD without drive being plugged in.

In older Legacy BIOS, a drive would have to be plugged in for it to be listed in BIOS, but not no londer . . .

Bios HDD Reboot and Select... Windows

After upgrading to Windows 10 - 2nd and 3rd HDDs cannot be seen??????

    Hi,

What is the make and model of your computer?

I suggest you to check in BIOS setting whether both the HDD are listed there. You may get in touch with your computer manufacturer or refer to the user manual on how to enter BIOS settings.

If it is listed in BIOS, you may check whether you are able to see both the HDD in Disk Management. Follow the steps to check:

    Press Windows Key + X.

    Click on Disk Management.

Please reply us with the required information to assist you further.
