  1. BIOS loop and VGA light on after swapping GPU

Since I had upgraded my CPU not too long ago, my old sluggish GPU was bottlenecking. I swapped out my old GPU for a brand new rx6700 and I immediately ran into problems. The VGA light came on and BIOS took around 5 minutes to run. During this period, the display turns on, but this only displays a black screen until BIOS runs. Attempting to leave the BIOS resulted in another long waiting period that looped back to the same BIOS menu. I tried putting my old graphics card back in only to be met with the same problems. Removing the GPU altogether and using the on-board HDMI port didn’t help either

    Red VGA light on motherboard

I have a problem, whenever I turn my pc on it boots up fine. However there is no display on the motherboard, aswell as the fact whenever I turn my pc on a red vga light appears on the motherboard. I have already tried or attempted to reseat the gpu, swap out ram, (attempt to update bios), and try a different gpu only for the vga light to still show. Every now and then the pc will post and my monitor will show display but it later crashes.

    My specs include

    Ryzen 5 7600x

    Asus tuf gaming 3070ti

    G skill trident z5 rgb 32gb ddr5 ram

    Samsung 980 pro ssd 1tb

    Corsair 750x

    Gigabyte b650m aorous elite ax

  3. vga light on but gpu working fine

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

The VGA light on your motherboard is part of the motherboard's POST (Power-On Self-Test) system. If the light remains on after booting, it generally indicates that there is a problem with the graphics card or its connection to the motherboard.

However, as you mentioned that your GPU works fine once booted and you have no issues while gaming, this could indicate a few possible scenarios:

    1. Loose Connection: Even if it seems unlikely because you've changed several components already, double-check to ensure your GPU is seated properly in its PCIe slot and power cables are securely connected.
    2. BIOS/UEFI Settings: Sometimes, certain settings in BIOS/UEFI can cause such issues. Ensure your BIOS/UEFI is set to use PCIe graphics first (not integrated graphics). Also, consider updating your BIOS/UEFI if an update is available from NZXT for your specific model.

Disclaimer: Microsoft provides no assurances and/or warranties, implied or otherwise, and is not responsible for the information you receive from the third-party linked sites or any support related to technology.

If you are going to modify BIOS Settings, please back up all your personal files first to ensure you do not lose data.
    3. GPU Firmware or Driver Issue: Check if there are any updates available for your GPU's firmware or drivers from NVIDIA's website.
    4. Power Supply Issue: While you've already changed PSU, it's still possible that the power supply isn't able to provide enough power during startup but manages fine later on when demand isn't peaking as high.
    5. Motherboard Issue: Despite changing motherboards already too, it could be an issue with how this particular model of motherboard interacts with other hardware during bootup process.
    6. Monitor or Cable Issue: It could be related to monitor detection during startup phase – perhaps due to cable issue or monitor itself.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.

    Best regards
