  1. BIOS Update ?

    DxDiag:

    https://pastebin.com/3Bwh3P7Z

I need to update my BIOS. This site says not to use the BIOS manufacturer's site for the update but to use the motherboard manufacturer's site:

    https://www.ecomputerz.com/american-megatrends-bios-update.html

From the DxDiag I can see that I'm using a "P8H61-M LE/USB3" motherboard from "ASUSTeK Computer INC." and the BIOS is "American Megatrends Inc. 0803, 21/10/2011" so clearly in need of an update.

ASUSTeK Computer INC.'s site shows this as the closest named product:

    https://www.asus.com/supportonly/P8H61-M LECSM R2.0/HelpDesk_BIOS/

    although it is a "P8H61-M LECSM R2.0" not a "P8H61-M LE/USB3".

"LECSM R2.0" vs "/USB3", am I looking at the correct page ?

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this.

    Thanks in advance.

  4. BIOS Update ?

    Should I update bios?

I would read the warranty before doing anything. If the manufacturer finds out you did something not on their approved list of steps, for example using a program they didn't list, or a bios, etc, they can treat your video card rma like you threw it against the wall , because if something goes wrong and you didn't follow their steps exactly ,it was damaged through human error and they're not likely going to be obligated to cover it warranty wise. I don't know for sure, I just advocate that you check first , and I also advocate that you verify that it's an actual update ,because very rarely do manufacturers release updates for gpu bios'. And they most certainly wont cover a GPU "update" if its a bios file written by some dude in the Ukraine, it has to be a set process, they have predetermined often.
