Windows 10: BIOS Updates Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5983

The support page at toshiba.com does not support windows 10 for this laptop. My BIOS is 2009 and the computer was originally windows 7 home. I see two newer version for windows 7 dated 2016. I am having some hardware conflicts on this computer since using windows 10. I want to know, if it is safe to flash the windows 7 version of BIOS? The Toshiba page shows support only up to 7 and nothing for 10.


Alternatively, should I try to figure out a factory reset option and revert to 7 with the hopes of correcting the issues I am having?

Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5983 Turns Back On After Shutdown When Plugged In

I have a Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5983 running Windows 10, originally Windows 7. Whenever I leave it plugged in while I shut it down, it boots right back up. If I have it unplugged when it is shutting down, it doesn't. I am not telling it to boot back up after I shut it down, it does it on its own. It has done this for years (even while running Windows 7), but only recently have I decided to figure out what could be wrong. Based on the information I have given, any ideas what the problem is? If more information is needed, let me know and I will supply to the best of my ability.

I have tried searching on Google to see if anyone else has the same issue. So far, I have found one instance, but the solutions are either not applicable to my laptop or don't fix it. One solution said that there was a Trojan on their PC, so I am currently running a Full System Scan with Bitdefender. While I wait for any answer or comment here, I will continue searching for any other solutions.

Windows 10 does not load on startup, no Toshiba logo, just a looping black screen/blue screen with cursor. And the bios is on slow boot.

 

DVD drive not working in Windows 10

I recently upgraded my Toshiba L505D-S5983 to Windows 10. Since then, the DVD drive will not work. The device manager states that there are problems with the registry entry for this device and to reinstall the drivers. This has not helped. any suggestions?
