Windows 10: Birthdate of primary user on new compute was accidentally set to 2021

Birthdate of primary user on new compute was accidentally set to 10-15-2021 which makes the user underage. So we are stuck. Security keeps us from fixing it. actual correct birthdate is 10-15-1961!!! Help!!!

If the computer administrator's birthdate is listed as a minor, how do I change the birthdate to have an adult able to use the computer properly?

It could be due to incorrect settings or missing/corrupt drivers or missing updates.

What and all steps have you tried so far?

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

Restart the computer a few times and check for Windows Updates.

In the Search box on the taskbar, enter Windows Update, select Windows Update. On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates.

Try to run Hardware Troubleshooter. It checks for common issues and makes sure that any new device or hardware attached to your computer was installed correctly.



a. Press Windows Logo Key+X then click on Search option.

b. Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes and click on
Troubleshooting.

c. In the new window, click View all on the left pane.

d. In the list of options, click on Hardware and devices.

e. Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

Go to Settings and change/set it to Primary.

• Press Windows Logo Key+I. Click on System and then on Display.
• Make sure it is set as Primary.

Changing a Microsoft account from an (incorrectly entered) adult birthdate to the correct child's birthdate

The links provided in the above response pertain to an account which is already setup as a child. That is not my situation.

My issue is going from an ADULT account to a CHILD account. Currently, the account is setup (incorrectly) as an adult account. I would like to update the birthdate to reflect that this is a child account.

This is an easy scenario to test:

• Setup a new Microsoft account with a birthdate that makes you an adult.
• Log off and then log back in
• Go to your profile and attempt to change the birth date to make you a child.
• The system will prevent you from making this change.

Any suggestions?
