    USB connections non-responsive...printers & external DVD-CD drive

    Hi KristinF,

Removing the ASUS AiCharger utility on my ASUS P6TD Deluxe motherboard resolved the mouse issue immediately upon rebooting. And, it corrected all USB issues.

Under Device Manager>Universal Serial Bus controllers, all of the Intel ICH10 Family USB Enhanced Host Controller drivers in Device Manager are now working. Also, other Root Hub devices have re-appeared. Those were missing when this problem started.

My ASUS installer screen, which should show which version was installed, failed to run. I am unsure what version of AiCharger was running.

In the meantime, based on my problem description, ASUSTek support recommended I clear my CMOS by removing the battery.

Once I inform ASUS that removing AiCharger fixed the problem, I will ask if they still recommend I clear my CMOS.

This problem affected all my board USB ports. It did not affect my computer during startup, but only after Windows 10 started loading. That is when my mouse - and all other USB ports - stopped working.

    Thanks again!

    Hi,

I am also having a similar USB problem, but it just started in the last three-days, although I upgraded to Windows 10 successfully almost two weeks ago.

Three days ago, my Windows 10 PC performed a restart after running automatic updates. I went to login, but neither my wireless mouse or wireless keyboard worked. Both are Logitech devices. I tried Method 1 above. No luck. I then tried Method 2, which
was very difficult because I had to find an old keyboard that would work with my motherboard connector. Like Method 1, Method 2 didn't help. What Device Manager is telling me, with the little yellow exclamation marks, is that NONE of my USB ports is now
apparently compatible with Windows 10. The OS shut them off!

My mainboard, an ASUS P6TD Deluxe model, has the latest firmware available circa 2010. No new firmware is available. My USB mouse works briefly, but only during the POST sequence. Then all USB ports stop working.

The Intel website says my ICH10 USB controller driver are basically written by Microsoft. Uninstalling the non-working driver software via Device Manager doesn't work. Every time I reboot and log in, Device Manager gives me the same error message about
my ICH10 devices - yellow exclamation mark. Is there any other workaround for this, short of replacing my motherboard with one five years newer? Again, for nearly two weeks - my USB ports all worked with Windows 10.

Any additional suggestions besides above would be helpful! MichaelO
