Windows 10: Bitdefender Windows 8 Security A-OK

Bitdefender Windows 8 Security installed and running fine in b9879; fully recognized in Security & Maintenance.

Custom user profile, everything cranked up to aggressive, paranoid, notify/ask.

I'll try something else when this trial expires - 29 days to go...

Adding computers.

BitDefender is not a Microsoft program and I do not use it....I prefer the "freebies." I would guess you could just use the same product/license key when you download the program to another computer

Unless someone who uses BitDefender reads this thread and provides an answer you'll need to wait on a reply from BitDefender.

[Solution Found]"Some settings are managed by your organization" when trying to change notification settings.

OK, I fixed the problem. This was caused by Bitdefender (as someone wrote here).

I run Bitdefender Internet Security, but it might be also the case with Total Security.

Bitdefender has profiles, and when in Autopilot mode, it detects the way we use the laptop and bloks few windows services (notifications is one of them) to increase performance.

So the trick is to disable the autopilot mode, not letting it disable anything, and switching to "standart mode" and rebooting the PC.

No more "Some settings are managed by your organization" appears, and all the options in the windows notifications panel are now active!

 

I had problems with it, switched to AVG free, so far, so good. Avast was making even more problems, I guess we'll just have to wait for those AV companies to make their products completely compatible but if MS gets WD up to par, others may become irrelevant.

 

BD's Win 8 Security has been superb in my build 9879; updates OK; alerts to Win 10 update in Events. I've been connecting to the test rig (in another room) with my Win7x64 system using Remote Desktop Protocol as the 17" CRT is awful. In fact, I've also been running IE in the RDP window side by side with IE on the Win7 desktop to run A-B threat detection tests vs the desktop's Ad-Aware Pro. I've probably opened ~100 malware & phishing links so far and Win 8 Security hasn't hiccuped once. I haven't rebooted since the updates a few days ago and I use hibernation overnight. Cheers.
