Windows 10: Bitlocker Activation

Hello, we have a situation where an update has activated Bitlocker for many of the computers in our organization. Most of the time about 75% of the time we are able to log in and find the Bitlocker key for the person, but there are a few instances where that has not been the case. Here is what we have going:We are not setting up Bitlocker in any way.The end user is not setting up Bitlocker.After the update is applied and the computer is rebooted, it reboots into the screen requesting the Bitlocker key.Does anyone know how we can avoid this in the future?Is Bitlocker somehow enabled by defaul

Can you log into your computer without it requiring a BitLocker key? Just a general question, not assuming BitLocker is active; I'm simply curious.

If you're able to log in without needing a BitLocker key, please follow these steps.

1. Open the Start menu.

2. Search for "Control Panel".

3. Change the view to either "Small icons" or "Large icons".

4. Locate and click on "BitLocker Drive Encryption".

5. You will observe the BitLocker status (on or off) listed next to each of your drives.

 

Need to turn off Bitlocker to install Windows 10

We suggest doing the following steps again to resolve the issue. To complete the procedure, make sure that you have the following information:

• You must be able to provide administrative credentials.
• The drive must be BitLocker-protected.

To suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption on an operating system drive, please follow the steps below:

• Click Start, click Control Panel, click
  System and Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
• Click Suspend Protection for the operating system drive.
• A message is displayed, informing you that your data will not be protected while BitLocker is suspended and asking if you want to suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  
• Click Yes to continue and suspend BitLocker on the drive.

• Click Turn on BitLocker.
