  1. BitLocker and DMA and Memory Resilience attacks?

I an running BitLocker with fully encrypted OS drive with TPM only authentication.

I have Sleep mode disabled with a setting: Never

When not using my laptop, I power OFF my system completely.

My question is, am I still vulnerable to DMA attacks if I shutdown my laptop completely when I am finished using my laptop?

I read that DMA attacks only occur when the systems are not fully powered down , meaning there are just only Locked with the Windows Logon screen, Sleep mode, or just reboot.

    :)

  2. BitLocker with TPM mode protection only?

I have a laptop which is a Dell E6440 and was just wondering if it vulnerable to these DMA attacks through Thunderbolt and Firewire methods.

Reason asking, is because I have BitLocker full disk encryption turned ON with TPM-Only protection (meaning no PIN).
Would this be fine or how can I tell if my laptop is vulnerable to DMA or Memory attacks?

Overall, is it OK to use BitLocker with TPM-only protection or do I need a PIN as well?

    Dma ?

On my sys. (sys. listed), how do I enable or disable DMA on my Sata drives? I have a Sumsung SH-S203b Dvd recorder (sata) and in the Nero info tool I get a warning that DMA is disabled on this drive. On my old sys. (P4C800-E Deluxe) the Intel raid driver software provided control of dma. On the P5K Deluxe where do I find the drive settings (DMA or PIO) and how would I change them?

    Thank You.

  4. BitLocker and DMA and Memory Resilience attacks?

Appear to have been attacked with Bitlocker

Bitlocker is part of Windows OS and should not be attacking your computer, is it possible that this is a ransomware attack that mimics Bitlocker? If so you need to find help of a forum that deals with malware. If this is actually Bitlocker that is malfunctioning you may be hooped and have to reformat.
