Windows 10: Bitlocker and hibernation

Hello,I have a few questions about bitlocker and hibernation:Is it safe to use bitlocker and hibernation? Can this two features work together? Are there any slowdowns or problems if I use hibernation while bitlocker is active?Can bitlocker cause any slowdowns in general to the system?

Hello, I have a few questions about bitlocker and hibernation.

1. Is it ok to use hibernation? Does it hurt the computer? How long can the PC be in hibernation.
   
2. Is it good to set up and use Bitlocker? Are there any downsides to using bitlocker? Is there any risk in using bitlocker?
   
3. Can I use hibernation when bitlocker is active?
   

 

Windows 10: Bitlocker Screen after Hibernation

Microsoft has warned in the past that you must disable Hibernation mode before utilizing Bitlocker encryption. Bitlocker functions with it, but it's not an ideal practice and Windows boots so quickly now that hibernation is unnecessary, particularly if you're security minded.

Turn off hibernation mode, in power settings, or in group policy. Then follow the steps listed above. If that still fails, I would decrypt, reinitialize the TPM, and encrypt again. If that fails again, I would do a clean install of Windows and give it another shot.

 

Bitlocker Questions

Hey brink, I dont use hibernate ... but I might use it when i use bitlocker though.


But my concern is if i only do one step of step 3 and not do the other part of step 3... there might be some issue along the way right? Thats why im concerned about this and want to do it first before i turn on bitlocker. Or had i not do step one of step 3... i would feel safe to do it.


But could you tell me what im typing wrong though in the last step of 3 like how you found i spelled that bcdedit incorrect earlier?
