Windows 10: Bitlocker and updating BIOS

    Bitlocker and updating BIOS


    Before I update the BIOS, I'm asking myself about Bitlocker and if it has the Drive locked. Since I am getting nowhere with myself, I thought it best to ask someone abroad, so here I am. My question then is, how can I tell if my Drive is locked and then this. When I click on System and bring up Related Settings, Bitlocker is there "Device encryption to help protect your data." When I click on that, a blue window pops up for a brief second then disappears. What is the reason for that or better, how is it the Window that begins to pop up, does stay?

    Still can't reproduce. Could you please post the exact BIOSes that produce the issue?

    Trouble updating BIOS on Dell computer

    Thank you for your reply. I was also thinking about this. It's possible, in BIOS menu I remember loading something called like "custom configuration" instead of bios defaults. It's still strange that the newer version of the Support Assistant did not warn me about this. It was Dell's Support Assistant that suggested the update. I did not do it manually. But will give it a look. I'm not at home this week, but will try it out as soon as I get back. Thanks Again!
