Windows 10: BitLocker crashed while encrypting a boot drive, how can I recover it?

I'm running Win11 Pro, everything is up to date and I was encrypting a 1tb SSD boot drive. I decided to enable BitLocker on my boot drive. While enabling it I received a message saying that it may slow the computer down while using it. "No big deal" I thought, since I was just browsing the internet and watching YouTube. Suddenly my video froze, no webpages wanted to load, but I was still able to close out of apps. The start menu worked once, but once I clicked out of it I wasn't able to get it to pop back up. CTRL-ALT-DEL and CTRL-Shift-ESC did not respond, the only thing that worked was my

Data Recovery in Bitlocker Encrypted Drive

Today my home laptop system asked for bit locker password after booting up (before login). Bit locker encryption was not enabled by me. However, to make the computer usable, C drive was formatted since there was no critical data in C Drive. However D Drive is still encrypted.



Kindly confirm

1. Can Bitlocker Encryption be enabled without intervention of the user?
   
2. Where to find the bitlocker encryption key?
   
3. How to recover the Data in Encrypted D Drive?
   

 

How to recover individual files/directories (not an entire drive) encrypted by Bitlocker?

I recently reinstalled Windows 10 after performing a CPU and motherboard upgrade, but I have a few folders that had previously been encrypted using Bitlocker on the old hardware. I have the Bitlocker recovery key for when I used it, but I'm not sure how to recover these files using this key, as Bitlocker doesn't recognize that the files on the drive are encrypted (it specifically says "(X Bitlocker Off".

Any suggestions on how to recover these encrypted files given that Bitlocker doesn't seem to recognize they are encrypted?

I suggest you to perform below mentioned steps to disable BitLocker.

To disable BitLocker I would suggest you try the following steps and see if it helps.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Change View by from Category
  to Large Icons/Small Icons.
  
• 
  Click on BitLocker Drive Encryption and click on
  Turn BitLocker Off.
  
• 
  Follow on screen instructions. Click on Decrypt the Drive
  when the message appears.
