    Bitlocker error 0x80004005


    Changed my windows onto a larger SSD.Before cloning the drive I suspended bitlocker but left the drives encrypted.I installed the larger drive and started windows again... this brought up the system as well as the drives.Since I added new partitions as well, I decided to turn off bitlocker, decrypt the windows partition and then turn on bitlocker again for all partitions, so I would have new recovery keys fully associated with the new disk.The decryption worked. I have now unencrypted partitions.However, upon a windows reboot not sure there was an update in the middle somewhere, bitlocker n

    I have looked over many other posts about this, all with the same error code, but with a different problem.

    I have a computer thats a few years old, it has an ABIT kn8-sli motherboard, and its running off windows XP.

    I was having problem with the hard drive before I gave up on it awhile back, and now I have come back and resolved that problem, but now when I get to the login screen and type in the password it says its in need of an update, then when it asks me if I want to update I click Yes, and then it says it won't work due to error 0x80004005.

    The only operating system I have currently is windows 7. Do I need to go buy a new OS or is this recoverable?
