Windows 10: BITLOCKER - is there a way around the Password/KEY?

Alright folks. I am sooo frustrated! I inherited a laptop from an elder relative who recently passed, and they rarely used it, it's is very good shape - a Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows 10 or 11. Can't tell, because BITLOCKER has me locked OUT. No one knows where the PASSWORD/KEY is - HELP! Is there a way around this? I have a WINDOWS 11 BOOT USB that I've had from my personal laptop if needed?

Method 1: I suggest you to start the BitLocker Device Encryption service.

Follow the below steps:

1. Press Windows key + R from the Keyboard.

2. Type services.msc and hit Enter.

3. Search for BitLocker Device Encryption service.

4. Double click on BitLocker Device Encryption service and click on Start button.

5. Click on the dropdown list and set the Startup type to Automatic.

If the issue persists then change the password and change the settings on how drive is unlocked at startup.

Great. Male sure you have your bitlocker key documented / save to a file not on your machine. On rule 6 comment. We cannot suggest hacks, password cracking tools or other ways to circumvent protection. Suggesting ideas to use standard processes should not be an issue, like password reset or using characters found on US keyboards.
