Windows 10: BitLocker key disappeared in my new Microsoft Account

When I received my new Lenovo laptop, I created a new Microsoft account let's call this account "A". Surprisingly, I was able to find a BitLocker key in my Microsoft account, even though I was using Windows 11 Home edition.Later on, I performed a clean format and reinstalled Windows and also, I changed my laptop's name. I signed in again with the same Microsoft account A, but this time, I noticed that there were two BitLocker keys in my account. The first key corresponded to the laptop's name before the format, and the second key was associated with the new laptop name I gave it after the

Bitlocker key can not be found in the microsoft account

After a regular update of Windows my Notebook asked me for the Bitlocker Key although I never activated this. The device is listed in my account but in the list of keys it's not.

Simply doing a reset is definitely not an option, the data is needed.

Every single suggestion for how to find the key is absolutely useless so far.

 

Cannot Save Bitlocker Recovery Key to Microsoft Account

I have a brand new Surface Pro with Windows 10. I am attempting to enable BitLocker.

From the Control Panel / Manage Bitlocker, I click "Turn on BitLocker".

I am given a question, "How do you want to backup your recovery key?" and I choose, "Save to your Microsoft account."

I am greeted with a popup, "Bitlocker Drive Encryption error. Can't sign in to your Microsoft account. You need to be signed in to Windows with a Microsoft account to save your recovery key. Sign out and hen sign in with a Microsoft account, or go to
Settings and choose Accounts to change your existing account."

I am signed in, but I went through these steps again, but I am unable to save my recovery key to my Microsoft account.

How do I fix this?

BitLocker Recovery Key not stored in Microsoft Account

Here is the sequence of events that resulted in me unable to access the data on my additional HDD.

30th August - Purchased new computer and installed windows 10 64-bit Pro on 500GB internal harddrive.

4th September - Added another 2TB harddrive and moved my personal data.

17th September - Installed Linux operating system on internal hard drive overwriting windows 10. Unable to access the data on the 2 TB HDD from Linux.

17th September - Reinstalled Windows 10 64-bit Pro on 500GB internal harddrive overwriting Linux.

Unable to access the 2 TB HDD from Windows since it was bitlocker encrypted.

My Microsoft Account has 2 BitLocker recovery keys. But both are for the internal HDD in which the OS was installed twice. No key listed for the external HDD.

Is there a way to get the bitlocker recovery key for the external HDD?

Is it possible that the 2 TB HDD I purchased was bitlocker enabled by the previous buyer and then returned to seller and that's why it is not listed in my microsoft account?
