Windows 10: Bitlocker locked me out and cannot retrieve password

It all started when I restarted my laptop and suddenly it prompted the recovery blue screen !! I have never enabled the bitlocker in my laptop.. So after reading I did two things which both revealed odd results. 1 in the command line I ran the command "manage-bde -protectors C: -get" .. Under the "Numerical Password" it showed the ID but not the password. 2 The bitlock view from microsoft website is not loading. It is stuck in the loading stage and does not show the password. It is very weird how the bitlcoker suddenly got activated and how the bitlocker key is not available using the comman

Bitlocker frequently locking computers

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately these suggestions don't really fit our needs. We want to use BitLocker and don't want to disable it. The problem we have is that it locks some of our computers from time to time. Ideally we will make use of BitLocker but not have it blocking our computers.

I have tried:

1. Turning off BitLocker
   
2. Installing all Driver and Windows Updates
   
3. Turning BitLocker back on again
   

Maybe this will help. We will wait and see.

Method 1: I suggest you to start the BitLocker Device Encryption service.

Follow the below steps:

1. Press Windows key + R from the Keyboard.

2. Type services.msc and hit Enter.

3. Search for BitLocker Device Encryption service.

4. Double click on BitLocker Device Encryption service and click on Start button.

5. Click on the dropdown list and set the Startup type to Automatic.

If the issue persists then change the password and change the settings on how drive is unlocked at startup.

We suggest to change it from Control Panel. You may follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X.
• Select Control Panel.
• Click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
• Click Unlock drive.
• Type your present password and click Unlock.
• The drive will be unlocked and you will notice more links on the right of that particular unlocked drive, click
  Change password.
• Now, you may type your Old password, New password and Confirm new password.
• Click Change password.
