Windows 10: Bitlocker Possible Bug in Windows 10 HOME on 1TB HDD

Hello, I have had this issue for a while now. I have the Windows 10 home edition, but still somehow I've got a drive of mine bitlocked. It used to be my main and only drive, so I needed to buy a new drive to run my PC. Since I did not activate Bitlocker, I don't have the keys to decrypt the drive. My Microsoft account does not list any keys in it so there is no way to recover the keys as far as I know. Therefore none of the published solutions I have seen can work because they all assume that I have access to the keys.There have been posts on answers.microsoft.com about this earlier, for examp

Ugrading my 1TB MBR HDD to a 4TB GPT SSD

You should do steps as follows

1) clone 1TB hdd to SSD

2) run mbr2gpt utility to convert ssd to uefi

Convert Windows 10 from Legacy BIOS to UEFI without Data Loss

3) extend 1tb partition on SSD to 4TB using tool like Easeus Partition Master (free version is ok).

Step 2 is the critical step.

Corrupt HDD + BitLocker + Data Recovery

Hey guys,

I have a BarraCuda 500GB 2.5 HDD. The HDD is failing. I checked with HD Tune Pro and it only gets about 2% error scan before it just fails and won't scan anymore. Lots of damaged blocks. The HDD is encrypted with BitLocker. I have the 48 number key. The laptop where the HDD was installed in wouldn't boot. So I installed the HDD into another computer using an external enclosure using Windows 10. The HDD is recognized as a BitLocked drive and asks for the key. I insert the key and it is accepted. But from there Windows fails to load it and it just hangs and eventually says the drive needs to be formatted. I am trying to get any data off this drive. I have some questions.

1. How do I permanently remove BitLock from the drive once I unlock it? Or should I permanently remove BitLocker to have a higher chance of recovering data?
2. How does recovering data work on a BitLocked drive?
3. Is there a specific tool I should be using to recover data on a BitLocked drive?
4. When should I attempt to repair the drive? Before or after I unlock Bit?

If anyone has a step by step guide I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
