Windows 10: Bitlocker randomly engaged - accepts recovery key but it crashes laptop

After 4 years Bitlocker randomly encrypted my laptop. Not sure why, wasn't doing anything different than normal, but I guess that's not important.Upon restart, Bitlocker asks for the recovery key, so I input it and the laptop restarts...Then it crashes / locks on the 'DELL' boot up screen. Sometimes I can get to the Bitlocker screen again, re-enter the key and around we go. Any emergency restart / repair on the laptop is taking me back to the crashing DELL boot screen or the Bitlocker screen.

Bitlocker Randomly Enabled

On my personal Lenovo laptop, Bitlocker somehow randomly was enabled. I have not enabled it, and I followed the recovery steps without luck. It seems that it was enabled during an update. I logged into my Microsoft account, see that the laptop is listed, but there is no bitlocker key listed. I am at a loss on what the next steps might be for me to be able to log into my computer at this point.

The eight-digit key is the key ID that tells you what recovery key to use (imaged edited for security reasons...

Here you see the Key ID code and next to it is the corresponding recovery key. So if the codes E80024E, you'll need to find the corresponding key which here would be 16965-175505.... That's the 48-digit key you need to input. Hope that helps *Wink

 

Bitlocker will not accept password or Recovery Key

I am trying to access my hard drive , But my recovery key and password are not being accepted

by bitlocker.

This Recovery key was sent to me when setting up the bitlocker, But now says it's a invalid key



Is there a problem with this software as its not accepting my recovery key Or password.



Can this bitlocker be reset so that it Can accept my recover key.



Any help please.Alan
