Windows 10: BitLocker recovery key exists on my account but URL does not show anything

Hi there,


I've recently had my laptop locked out through never ending 'automatic repairs' at startup. To run any sort of recovery options, it looks like I need my BitLocker key for my hard drive. So I login to my Windows account and I can see the right laptop and the hard drives, each with BitLocker activated. When I click 'Manage my recovery key', it sends me to a page that says 'There's nothing on this page to show you'.


I've followed the URL to the alternative OneDrive link which supposedly stores these keys, but this just tells me I have no BitLocker keys associated with my account!


I can literally see the f'ing things right there, this is so frustrating. I have contacted support and they tell me to contact my vendor HP... no its a Microsoft issue!! If you won't let me access my BitLocker key on my own account how can this be an HP issue? After this he just left our chat after giving up I suppose.


Anyone had a similar problem and been able to find their keys on their account?

1. Are you not able login to your computer due to BitLocker Recovery Key?
2. Did you ever setup BitLocker Recovery Key on your computer?
3. Are you not able to login to your Microsoft Account to find the BitLocker Recovery Key?
4. Are you using Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Professional?

Meanwhile, try finding BitLocker Recovery Key if you have ever setup BitLocker Recovery Key for your computer.

Please elaborate on the issue, so that we can understand the concern and get back to us to help you further.

 

BitLocker recovery key

My computer is locked by BitLocker and the recovery key is not showing in the Microsoft account (the device is listed). How can I generate/retrieve the key (I don't have it stored anywhere)?

I did follow your suggestion but I can't get recovery key.

I got the below message.

You don't have any BitLocker recovery keys in your Microsoft account.

Next Step, What should I do?
