Windows 10: BitLocker recovery key

    BitLocker recovery key


    I have an HP laptop with windows 10.

    All of a sudden, out of nowhere, its asking me for a bitlocker recovery key. I don't know why.

    So I tried to login to my Microsoft account to get a key but had to change my password because I forgot it. It's been so long ago. I also had to change my phone number. I had to change my phone number so I could get a confirmation code JUST so i could change my password.


    Because i updated my Microsoft info, i now have to wait to access the bitlocker recover site for an entire month.

    I have a screenshot if you'd like to see it .


    Anyways, this is ridiculous! So because I have to wait a month to get a key I will not be able to use my laptop for a month!

    Are you serious Microsoft???

    Can anyone help?

    1. Are you not able login to your computer due to BitLocker Recovery Key?
    2. Did you ever setup BitLocker Recovery Key on your computer?
    3. Are you not able to login to your Microsoft Account to find the BitLocker Recovery Key?
    4. Are you using Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Professional?

    Meanwhile, try finding BitLocker Recovery Key if you have ever setup BitLocker Recovery Key for your computer.

    Please elaborate on the issue, so that we can understand the concern and get back to us to help you further.

    I got the below message.

    You don't have any BitLocker recovery keys in your Microsoft account.
