    BitLocker settings do not exist.


    After a windows update, my hard drive have been encrypted by Windows BitLocker without asking or telling me the key to unlock it.Fortunately my online Microsoft account had a key and I was able to get to my desktop.When I tried to go to the Control Panel to turn off BitLocker so this doesn't happen again the only option given was "Back up your recovery key". There is no option for "Turn off BitLocker" like all the tutorials said there should be. I have spent over an hour trying to find any options to turn it off, but there is none. I even found tutorials saying my version of Windows Home s

    Exist case a w 10 pro PC - old was w 7 pro...
    to support Only Bitlocker and NOT
    device encryption in settings... see shot above....?

    Need to turn off Bitlocker to install Windows 10

    Hi,

    We suggest doing the following steps again to resolve the issue. To complete the procedure, make sure that you have the following information:

    • You must be able to provide administrative credentials.
    • The drive must be BitLocker-protected.
    To suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption on an operating system drive, please follow the steps below:

    • Click Start, click Control Panel, click
      System and Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
    • Click Suspend Protection for the operating system drive.
    • A message is displayed, informing you that your data will not be protected while BitLocker is suspended and asking if you want to suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption.
    • Click Yes to continue and suspend BitLocker on the drive.
