Windows 10: BitLocker Startup Options Configured Incorrectly

Hi,
I recently installed a Gigabyte TPM module onto my Gigabyte motherboard to enable BitLocker on my Windows OS drive. However, attempting to configure BitLocker, I get the "Startup options on this PC are configured incorrectly." message.

I was in local GPO and enabled the Disallow standard users from changing PIN and Enable use of BitLocker authenication require preboot keyboard input.

Neither policy has worked. If I enable to use additional authentication at startup, BitLocker will load with the option to use a USB key to boot the PC, which I do not want.

I was looking for ideas on how to get my PC to boot normally (just like a OEM PC works with BitLocker) without the need of a startup key or PIN.

Hi All,

First of writting here for help I have search and didnt found solution to my problem...I have a dell laptop with TPM V2.0 and it is active on BIOS. Also I have activated bitlocker for SO and fixed drives and all was working perfectly.

My motherboard had crushed so I had to change it. to do so I had to turn bitlocker off.

Now that I have my pc running again I cannot turn on bitlocker as it gives the error "the start-up options on this pc are configured incorrectly..."

I have cleared TPM, changed bitlocker definitions on gpedit.msc (as suggested by other people) like:but without results...

At this moment in gpeditor there is not configured any of the bitlocker policy settings (Windows components\operating system drives) as they here not configured before the motherboard crash...

Does anyone knows how I can turn bitlocker on again?

I suggest you to try the step under the section "To unlock removable data drive" in the following article:

Note: The steps for Windows 8.1 applies to Windows 10 as well.
