Windows 10: BitLocker turns itself on after mother board change

    BitLocker turns itself on after mother board change


    First thing BitLocker was never turned on or activated on this computer. I replaced the motherboard and after booting it back up BitLocker comes up asking for the recovery key. I can't seem to find anything anywhere about this issue other than someone said it was a Window 10 thing. Anyone else seen this or heard about it?

    Replacing Mother Board

    I need to replace my mother board. I have purchased the identical replacement. I want replace the mother board and use the same old Processor. Processor is i7 6700K and the motherboard is ASUS Z170. Is it possible to replace the Mother board without re installing
    the Windows and software.

    Unable to activate Windows after changing Mother board.

    Unable to activate Windows after changing Mother board. There was an update installed from Windows Store related to Intel storage, after restarting Windows Mother board BIOS was damaged. Since Motherboard was under Warranty, replaced it now cannot activate
    Windows 10.
