  1. Bizarre display mirroring issue with Capture card, any tips?

I am going to try to be as clear as I can.

I have a GCC553 Avermedia external capture device plugged into a EVGA 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming. The capture device is recognized by windows 10 as a third display, it recognizes the right resolution I want and on top of that it recognizes the device as HDR10 capable. This capture device can capture a HDR10 as a pass-through.

As long as the device stays as a virtual third monitor HDR is on, everything is fine.

I have a main gaming monitor that is capable of HDR10, which I usually play on. As soon as I mirror the Gaming monitor onto the virtual display from the capture device HDR10 turns off on the gaming monitor and HDR10 on combined mirrored device is no longer available.

I am a little confused about what is happening here. AverMedia is convinced the device can capture HDR10 but due to a little bit of a language barrier there is not really much I can get out of them.

    Thank you.

  2. Having issues with the new update and capture card

    Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for posting your query.

To understand the issue better, I would like to know do ‘’when you say update’’ do you refer to November update (Windows 10 Version 1511)?

Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. I recommend you to uninstall/reinstall the capture card driver and check. Follow the below steps:

    • Press Windows key + X and click on
      Device manager
      .

    • Locate for the device (Capture card) and click on it to expand.

    • Right click on the device and click on
      uninstall
      .
Go to the capture card manufacturer website, download and install the latest capture card driver.

Hope it helps. Keep posting us with the status we will be glad to help you.

  3. Mirroring function

Just to make sure that this issue doesn't only occur on your particular PC, have you tried mirroring a different PC to the same TV? Did the same issue occur?

Have you also tried mirroring on the same PC before? Did it work successfully? If yes, what were the recent changes made before mirroring failed to work?

To make sure that you got the right steps in projecting a wireless display with Miracast, you may check these steps:

    • Turn ON the Miracast option if your TV comes with built-in Miracast support.
    • Press the Windows + I keys to go to
      Settings
      .
    • Click Devices, then Connected Devices.
    • Click on "Add a Device" and wait for the adapter to appear in the list. Click on the receiving adapter.

I'll be waiting for your response.

  4. Bizarre display mirroring issue with Capture card, any tips?

    screen mirroring

    Hi Hatty,

There is a way for you to control the remote screen whenever you are trying to mirror it from one device to another. To provide you an appropriate solution, please provide us the following information:

    • Which device are you using to mirror on your laptop?
    • Are you using an app to mirror the device on your laptop?
    • Are you able to use your mouse and keyboard on your laptop even if you are not playing a game while mirroring it from a device?

If you haven't tried to use your mouse outside a game while projecting to the PC, you may follow the steps below to allow your mouse and keyboard to control the remote screen:

    • Open Action Center.
    • Click the Connect button.
    • Click the name of the device you're trying to project.
    • Check the Allow input from a keyboard or mouse connected to this display
      option as necessary.
