    Bizarre unexplainable WiFi behavior

For the past week my WiFi has been acting extremely weird. I have a Netgear router and updated it's firmware in the past week I think I didn't have these issues before then, but it's irrelevant as this doesn't happen on my phone Basically what happens is that whenever I have something demanding of the WiFi running like downloading a game, it completely disables every other internet function on my PC but the game download continues as normal, and YouTube video pages that were already loaded and playing continue to load new frames as well. Upon attempting to load a new page while a game downlo

    NTFS disk compression, bizarre behavior

    Also bizarre :

I found that it was being caused by compression checkbox selected in partition's properties window.
I disabled that property, next time the copying had no problem, and 4.9GB free.

Ok, I found the cause, but I do not understand its behavior.

  3. Nokia X6 - unexplained active connection

oh dear - another unexplained connection established this morning!

i've checked the packet data setting - it was set to "when needed".

I've taken the bold step of deleting "Vodafone internet GPRS" from the list of internet destinations. I now only have wifi connections stored in the internet destinations folder.

I expected therefore to now be unable to connect to the internet via GPRS, and this has indeed happened. I will phone vodafone and get them to resend the GPRS settings via text.

    Boring.

In the meantime i know for sure that the phone won't be able to establish any unexplained connections!

    the mystery continues though.....

i'll wait a while though - something (an app) may prompt me that it wants to connect to the internet and so i'll hopefully be able to identify the culprit then!

  4. Bizarre unexplainable WiFi behavior

Wifi capability turned off after updating to Windows 10.

    Tony,

My laptop is experiencing the same behavior and symptoms as Logan12 after upgrading to Windows10 from 8.1. I have tried all of the same steps, but my WiFi and Ethernet do not work. Suggestions?
