Windows 10: black bar on top screen hides other programs menus

I gave the short version above but when using any program, there is a one inch black bar on the top of the screen. this is where the task bar pops in and out but when it's gone, it interferes with being able to use menus and the X and minimize buttons on other programs. I have a Dell pc and windows 11 and driving 3 27" monitors. Help plz......w

Address bar (top screen) & task bar (bottom screen) keep disappearing

Most likely Tablet Mode, as dmholt57 suggests.

Another posibility is accidentally pressing F11 which switches a browser to full screen mode.

 

Can I temporarily hide the search/floating bar at the top of my screen?

Hi Susan, is the bar you are referring to a web search bar stuck to the top of your desktop screen?

If so:

Open Control Panel - Programs and Features

Scroll down to find Web Bar 2.xx

Select that and uninstall it

Close Control panel

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager

Click on the Startup Tab

See if Web Bar is listed there

If it is, select it and click 'Disable'

Close Task Manager

Click your Start Button, type msconfig and hit Enter

When the System Configuration dialog opens, click on the Services Tab

Check the box marked 'Hide Microsoft Services'

In the remaining list see if Web Bar is listed there , uncheck any you find

Click Apply and OK

Restart your System and this annoyance will be gone . . .

 

Hide menu bars??

I want to open a program on my mobile PDA.



And the only thing I want visible is the program. How do I hide the start menu and not give the easy access to other programs and files and hide the "File" and "Help" buttons on the bottom bar?
