"Record That" feature on Xbox Game Bar not working for VALORANT.

The problem is with the game itself. Valorant depends on its anti-cheat, "Riot Vanguard". Vanguard blocks many things and the windows game bar happens to be one of them.

  3. "Record That" feature on Xbox Game Bar not working for VALORANT.

While playing VALORANT, I am unable to record the last 30 seconds of my gameplay using the "Record That" feature on the Xbox Game Bar. The button is grayed out, indicating that I cannot click on it. When I do click on it, though, a message reading "Gaming
features not available" pops up, along with a checkbox to enable gaming features. When I check the box, for some reason the "Record That" button stays grayed out, and when I click on it once more and the message pops up again, the box has been unchecked.

I did some research, and what I found was that you should check to see if the Xbox Game Bar's "remember this as a game" box in the settings is checked off. I found that it was unchecked, so I clicked on it to check it, and once again tried to use the "Record
That" feature, only to get the same results. Then, when I went back to the "remember this as a game" setting again, the box was unchecked, just like the "enable gaming features for this app..." box, even though I had just checked the box earlier. It's like
the box unchecks itself as soon as I close the settings.

It is important to note that the regular "Start Recording" button works just fine, but I want to be able to record the last 30 seconds of gameplay, instead of having to record and stop recording in every match that I play. It is also important to note that
the "Record That" feature works in other games, like Minecraft, so this could just be an issue with VALORANT, but I have no idea.

Recordings from Game Bar show black screen

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that the recordings using the Game Bar shows black screen. However, it would be great if you can reply with the details requested below:

    • Were you able to install the drivers?
    • Were you able to use the recording feature earlier?
    • Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently? To check type:
winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
      Enter.

If you have updated the graphics driver, I would suggest you to try rolling back the drivers and see if that helps:

    1. Press the Windows Logo key + X key, and select
      Device manager.
    2. In Device manager, expand Display adapters.
    3. Right click on AMD driver and select
      Properties.
    4. Navigate to the Driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver.
    5. Restart the computer.

You may also want to check whether the Xbox Game Monitoring service is running or not. Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows Logo key + R, to open
      Run dialog box.
    2. Type services.msc and click on
      OK
      .
    3. Scroll down and look for Xbox Game Monitoring, and see if the service is running.
    4. If the service is not running, right click on the service and select
      Start.

Let us know the results, we will be glad to help you further.
